Christmas Day in Pretoria Was signalised by an unprecedented hailstorm; Hailstones and jagged lumps of ice as large as teacups, weighing ever IGozs., ckusfed damage to property estimated at £IOO,OOO. The noise resembled art aerial bombardment. : ~
There were few casualties as the storm was gathering for an hour and gave people time to find shelter. Many families were washed out of their houses.—Reuter.
