CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP.
The games played at the chess championship congress yesterday at Wellington resulted as follow:
Second round—Section A: Gyles beat Fairburn, Moir beat Kummer, E. E. Hicks beat Kelling, Phil and Miller played a draw, Armstrong beat Crakanthorp. Section B; Anderson and Hughes played a draw, Vaughan beat Kennedy, Barnes beat E. A. Hicks, Hawkins beat Pleasants, Severne beat Dunlop. Third round—Section A: Miller beat Armstrong, Moir and Crakanthorp played a draw.
