BOY SCOUTS CAMP.
DEPARTURE FOR FOXTON. Scouts from various parts of the town and district went under canvas at Foxton to-day for a ten days’ The local troops left Palmerston North this morning under the command of Scoutmaster the Rev. Dent, and they were farewelled at the railway station by the District Commissioner, Mr R. S. Abraham, The canip_ is under the command of Deputy-Commissioner J. R. T. Slipper, and a lengthy programme of scoutcraft, games and sports has been drawn up. The district commissioner will visit ’the camp in the course of a few days, and will inspect iho troops and the camp arrangements. Given fine weather it is hoped that much useful work will be accomplished. A further contingent of scouts will proceed to the camp this afternoon, including a number from Feilding, and the camp Strength is expected to be at least 130.
