LACK OF BRICKLAYERS.
BUILDING SCHEMES RETARDED, Received October 26, 8.50 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 25.The Edinburgh Corporation's scheme for building 1774 houses has been retarded by the lack of bricklayers, only 25 being available, 500 having gone to the United States to take advantage of the wages of 50s per day, which are being paid there. The Glasgow' and other Scottish building schemes are similarly retarded.—-A. and N.Z. cable. I
