CHARGE OF MURDER.
ALLEGATION OF A QUARREL Received October 26, 12.5 p.m. Melbourne, Oct. .26. Johnson, who is charged with the murder of Harding, an ex-policeman, was remanded to November 2, bail being refused. The police statement asserts that Johnson, Who was living apart from his wife, engaged Harding to collect evidence with the view to taking divorce proceedings and that the shooting • followed a quarrel between them, Johnson’s advocate contended that Harding was mistaken for a burglar. [According to a previous cablegram, Harding was shot while forcing an entry into a kitchen, Johnson alleging that ho shot him by mistake.]
