RACING TELEGRAMS.
OVER TWO MILLIONS YEARLY,
Received July 18, 11.50 a.m. LONDON, July 17. The Controller of the Telegraph Department, giving evidence before the Betting Committee, said that thirty-six million telegrams were received annually and two and a half millions were connected with horse racing. Ten per cent of. the press telegrams related to horse racing. During the coal strike there was a very large increase in racing telegrarns.-A. and N.Z. cable.
