LOST IN THE BUSH.

SHANNON FARMER MISSING,

SEARCH PARTIES OUT.

Considerable auxioty is being fait in Shannon and locally for the safety and. welfare of Stewart Robbie, aged 20 years,, a farmer, whose occupation took him into borne bush at Shannon on Monday, and of whom nothing has since been seen'or heard. The missing youth and his brother Norman, the latter aged 16 years, who are the sons of Mr Robbie, of Scandia street, Palmerston North, have a farm called "The Height*" at Shannon, and on Sunday last both brothers went into tho bush to bring out some cattle. On the return to the farm they killed a wild pig, leo.ving the carcase where it fell. On Monday Stewart Robbie went back into the bush to see to the cattle and also to bring cut the dead pig, but from that time nothing further has been seen of him. As he did not return, his brother Norman went in' search of the misting man, but he was lost in the bush, and atter many hours aimless wandering he finally emerged into open country at ft point near Levin. In the meantime no trace of the other young man could be found, and search parties headed by the police an'd comprising many of the settlers set out to investigate. The fir3t parties went out "yesterday, but after hours of searching their efforts proved futile. " ;

The search for the missing man, who has now bean absent for four days, was renewed to-day, when the . search parties were strengthened and a thorough investigation of the bush was made, but up to a late hour this morning no trace of the missing man had been found. J
