Auckland Police Court this week to having assaulted Ralph Sanft, ‘‘under provocation, and drew a document from his pocket with the apparent intention of reading ik.feergeaut Rowell asked for a week s remand, so that, the accused could be placed under medical observation. “There is something wrong with him,” said the sergeant “In this case he went into his brother's chemist shop, and when asked to go away, committed the assault. L have here a mass of letters written by him to a guT who doesn't want him, which goes to show he is ‘mental.' His brother is a chemist, and has no doubts about his condition,” “Do you hear that—it is. said you have been writing letters to a young woman who does not want your attention?" said the magistrate. “It seems to show that you are not mentally sound, Dudson., You are remanded for a week for medical observation. Dudson left the dock waving his document.
