TELEGRAPHIST KILLED.
(Per Press Association.) - ASHBURTON, Feb. 28. Clarence Vivian McHardie, aged 26, a telegraphist, met with a fatal accident last night. He had been riding a cycle and unexpectedly came to a water. race just outside the town. Ho was thrown off the machine and the impact brokb his nose. He lay stunned in about 18in of water and was found dead this morning by a carrier. Deceased had been transferred from Wanganui three weeks ago and was to bo married next Tuesday,
