PROFESSIONAL BIGAMIST. FEES FOR BEING MARRIED. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received June 23, 12.30 p.m. LONDON, June 22. A naturalised Russian named Lazarus, who married six women in addition to his lawful wife, was sentenced at the Old Bailey to five years’ penal servitude. The Public Prosecutor described Lazarus as a professional bigamist. Accused stated that he was asked by foreigners to marry foreign women of_ a certain class desirous oL becoming British subjects. He left these wives at the Registry Office doors after receiving £l2 to £2O for his services in each case.—Reuter.
