The Railway Officers’ histanie conlercncc to day resumed the discussion on ibe proposal that a ballot ol members lie taken with a view to linking up with the Alliance of Labour. After a lengthy debate, it was resolved “that the conference, alter having given the mailer serious consideration, ami in view of the trend of current events, is of tlie opinion that ilie lime is not ripe to take a ballot on the question, hut directs die executive commiilee to keep in close touch with the situation.’
