BOOKMAKER ROBBED.
MONEY AND VALUABLES TAKEN. MELBOURNE, June 11. An audacious assault and robbery occurred at Hi. Kildu. Mr Sam Allen, a well-known bookmaker, was stepping from a taxi at his homo when three men attacked and seized him by the throat and robbed him of ±350 in cash and £SOO in cheques and jewellery, and then decamped. The driver of the taxi attempted to go to his assistance, but was threatened—Press Association.
