EARTHQUAKES.
SHOCKS AT TAUPO. OCCURRING DAY AND NIGHT. (Per Press Association.) ROTORUA, Juno 9. Mr 11. Till Mitchell has sent the following letter to the Postmaster-General“l have just returned from Taupo, where earthquakes are occurring day and night, some of them being violent. People, particularly women, are feeling the strain badly and 1 suggest that, the post ofiices at Taupo, Watrakei and Orotund be kept open at nights, and that car proprietors bo instructed to keep in readiness as a measure of precaution, and thus comfort the residents in the affected areas should the worst happen.”
