COLLEGE STREET SCHOOL.

COMMITTEE MEETING, The monthly meeting of the College t Street School Committee was held last even-' ing, thorn being present: Mis Bidden-I Jones. Messrs W. Turner (chairman), N. D. Stubbs, E. V. West. \\ Garvi!h>. T. | (nglis, ('. J. Gill and F. Hall. The head-I master (Mr D. W. Law) was also in attendance. | The headmaster's report for the period ' ending June 9 stated that the school had j been open for 30 Indf-davs and closed for) £0 half-days. The latter figure was due to l the term holithtjs. I he roll number was t 537 and the average attendances had been j 549. 546 and 540. One of the pupil teachers i had been absent for 'wo tDvs owing to ill- '■ ness. No nupil •eachers had as yet been ' appointed in tin* place of Miss M. Red. 1 who had left early in May. During the I month the. school had. been visited Lv} Messrs Adams and Ryder, inspectors of 1 schools; the chairman and members of (he Wanganui Education Board, together with the hoard’s architect, and re|>rc3«' , t!itjvM of the Taranaki Education Board. Several improvements to the school had been effect, ed during the term holidays.—’l he report was adopted.
