RECOGNITION OF SERVICES.
WARTIME EFFORTS RECALLED,
By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright, Received May 19, 9.20 a.m. LONDON, May 18. The supporters of Mr Lloyd George in both Houses are arranging for a special welcome at the railway station on Saturday upon his arrival from Genoa, The letter organising the function states: “Although fully aware that there have been dilferences of opinion regarding the policy and possibilities of the conference, wo agree that Mr Lloyd George has spared no effort to effect that which ho believed to bo in the best interests of Britain and of European peace. Mr Lloyd George has represented us at Genoa, has fought his critics with the courage, faith and optimism which characterised his attitude in warlike, Whatever the result of the conference, we would like the world to realise that many of us do not, forget the splendid services he rendered in wartime and his untiring efforts since to bring Europe back to normal conditions.”—A. and N.Z. cable.
