EX-EMPEROR'S DECLARATION.

His advisers debated the night long tho advisability of resisting his departure, and marching to Budapest. Karl finally, against the counsels of Colonel Lobar and Count Andrassy, -decided in the interests of the country to retire from Hungary. A largo crowd commenced singing the Hungarian National Anthem, auei when Karl appeared on the balcony he: was tremendously cheered. vVomen and children fell on their knees weeping, and rmaiued so until the Royal motor had started on its journey. ' Karl expressed himself as convinced that ho would return .within a brief period ;:ud has issued ;. declaration which it is understood will be-published'by ■tho'Hungarian Government"as follows: "I am leaving because ot inv conviction that the time has not yet cojiio to take ever, the right of governing. I. cannot peimit tho mainteaauco of a. right which would entail the disturbance of tlio present peace, and I lerve the land as crowned king of Hungary," . Colonel Lehnr, Karl's most ardent supporter, has resigned from tho Hungarian .irmy, ostensibly owing to ill health, and he is voluntarily sharing Karl's exile.'—A. and N.Z. cable.
DEPUTATION FROM WORKERS. Received April 7. 8.45 a.nv. VIENNA, April 6. A_ thousand _ workers occupied the Bruclc station, awaiting Karl's train, which was held up at FroFileiton. The denionstratoi\s declared their intention of expressing their opinions io Karl before permitting the continuance of his journey. Eventually a deputation of workers was permitted to proceed to Frohlcitcn.—A. and N.Z. cable.
