THE CLICHE CEP.
The third event —the 100 yards handicap —for the (Jlere Swimming Cup, was contested at the Municipal Laths last evening. Slipper, with 7 points, is still leading in the contest for the cup, and Sollitt, with 5 points, is a close second. The race last night was won fairly comfortably by SolJitt (scr.) in 72 seconds, CocLroit (Isec.) being second, Slipper (6acc.), who has now two lirsls and a third to his credit, coming third. The remaining races are the 133 1 3 yards, and the 106 2 3 yards.

Shand (Canteri bury) 2, Miss P. lioelt (Auckland) 8. j Time, 71 2-3, sec (a New Zealand record). 100 Yards liitor-Cluh Handicap.— I Dickson (Wanganui, 7see) 1, P. T. Har--1 ris (Canterbury, fisoc) 2. 100 Yards N.Z. Championship.— E. G L, Paterson (Wellington) 1. L. Kronfeld (Auckland) and .1. Euwright (Auckland) dead boat 2. Time, OOs'eo (a New Zealand record). Ladies’ Neat Headers.—Miss E. Tilsley (Auckland) won both events. Men’s Neat Headers.—Boulton (Wanganui) and (Wright (Auckland) each won one event.
100 Yards Breast-stroke Handicap.— Deck (Auckland, 4sec) 1, A. Clark (Auckland, 7see) 2, J. li. Meek (Canterbury, fiscc) 8. Deck won by two feet from .Torrent (Auckland), hut the latter was disqualified for not touching properly. Time. 1 min 24 4-dsee. Water Polo Championship.-—Second round: Canterbury A defeated Auckland A by four goals io two. Auckland and-Canterbury have 80 points each for the shield.
