Tho Government meteorologist wired today as follows;—Tho indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale, and backing by west to south after about 24 to 36 hours. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled with rain following. The barometer is falling. , , , „ The following forecast was issued by. Mr Clement L. Wragge on Thursday evening: “ a new and moderate depression named ‘Eddias’ has made its appearance in the far south, and may cause some ram m various parts of the country. Winds between west-north-west end south-west. *lt is not expected that whatever rain may fall will he sullioiont for the needs of the country, and fair to cloudy weather will probably be tho prevailing conditions.”
