SLUGGISH RIVER DRAINAGE BOARD.
,-3, A meeting of the Sluggish River Drainage Board was held yesterday; the',members present being Messrs 1?. Murphy (in tho chair). 11. Wilton. J. Boyco, and W. 15. V. Pcarce. It. was resolved that Mr Bpycc'bc authorised to dispose of the cocksfoot oil the sides of the main drain. The secretary Was instructed to write to (lie -Mnnawaru' County Council, requesting that, body to call on the settler:; on the banks of the Oroua river, between the main drain and the mouth.of die Oroua river, to clqar the willows from the banks. It was resolved to call tenders for clearing the main drain in three sections. It was decided to invite applications for the* position of overseer. Accounts amounting to £175 were passed for payment.
