DEATH OF A MOTORCYCLIST.

A CORONER'S REMARKS.Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 7. Ai ah inquest concerning the death of Charles Maeklow, ivlid was killed in ii' luntoii-eycle collision at Alexandra Park last night; au eyewitness staled that the collision occurred at a corner of the Straight after Craig had turned. Both cyclist's were travelling at about 40 mile's an hour, Craig's light was burning, and in witness's opinion'the dust; raised, the failing light, and the obscurity created by a fence were contributory facts to the accident. The medical evidence showed that death was due to fracture and laceration of the brain. The Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony, death being the outcome of an accidental collision between deceased's cycle and that ridden by Selwyn Craig. Ln delivering his verdict, the Coroner made several remarks in Which he deprecated the practice of motor-cycle racing. He said.it was quite clear that the Fpsorn track was ' unsuitable for cycle racing by reason of obstacles in the way of the vision of riders and the dust created. Motor-cycle racing was a notoriously dangerous,sport under tile best of conditions, and he hoped that everything- would, bo done at the ensuing meeting to mitigate against nnv untoward event. Maeklow enlisted when he was 18, and had a lengthy service in Palestine as a motor-cycle despatch rider with the Mounted Signal Troop,
