SEVEN DAYS' TOTAL £609,175,

HALF A MILLION RAID OUT,

The amount of money invested on the totalisator at the Auckland Racing Club’s and Auckland Trolling Club’s seven days' racing carnival, which concluded yesterday, totalled no less than £609,175, as compared with £369,621 for the corresponding two meeting's of the ?918-19 holiday period. Thu increase shown by the total for this season’s carnival is dims £239,654. This large total is a record for tiro Dominion. The sum invested on tho EHerslie course during tho Auckland Racing Club’s four days’ meeting constituted a Dominion record, the total being £435,781 10s. as against £263,170 for the 1918-19 meeting, the increase being £172,611 10s. The total for the three days of the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting at Alexandra Park was £173,393 10s, as against £106,351 last season, or an increase of £67,042 10s. This year’s total is a record for the rlub.
