This is a New Zealand record for interprovincial ciicket. Smith scored 256 and Hemub 14C. Smith’s score is also u record. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 3. Tho Canterbury second eleven beat Hawke’s Bay by an innings and 157 runs. Hawke’s Bay in the second innings were 1 11 out for 165 (Stevens 16, Spackman 20, Cane 35, Bradbnrn 18, Charles 15, .Mills 21). Howell took live wickets for 41, and Worker two for 11.
