SERIOUS
(Feb Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 2. Mr P. Selig, ohairman of the Newspaper Proprietors' -Association, has received cable advice that the position in regard to the supply of news print paper is already senous. Mr Selig has also been advised that the Australian representative of the -Canadian mills is leaving by the Niagara for Canada, and will interview him en route regarding the matter at Auckland. Mr Selig stated that it looked as if there was going to be considerable difficulty in securing supplies. He counselled the cutting down of the* size of papers, and the conservation of everv sheet possible. He ha'' interviewed the Prime Minister, and Mr Massey has undertaken to cable the Premier of Canada immediately pointing out the position here with respect to stocks, and requesting, him not to stop supplies {<# New Zealand.
