Yada, Consul-General for Japan in New York., who is now in Pekin, was interviewed. He said that, the • Senate's ; Shantung amendment was inspired by disgust with Japan's policy towards China. The Americans always suspected Japan's territorial ambitions in China.
Frankly speaking, tho relationship between Japan and the United States was in a dangerous condition. A * proposal * Was now afoot to send a delegation composed of Japanese statesmen and business men to the United, States for the purpose of reestablishing friendly relations between Japan and America.
