death of Mr ;W--T.' Wilson, which occurred, on Thursday last, an/old and'popular railway servant has been removed/ . Thirty-four' years" of service on tho Palmwaton...North / railway <■ staff and the number of outside activities into which he-entered won for ithe-deceased- gentleman a-host of 'friends-to whom the news of his death will como as a painful wrench. The' late 'Mr Wilson wtis'in his 52nd year, and had altogether spent 37 years in, tho service 'of, the Railway Department. After leaving Palmerston North some three years ago, be .spent about twelve months as depot crtß|genjan at Frankton Junction, and was then'shpwn considerable recognition for lis long and honourable service by receiving an appointment as assistant locomotive foreman in.Wellingtoh. This position he hold for tho two years prior to his death. Tho deceased hefd the office of secretary to the local branch"_of:ythe.A.S;il.S. forra number of years, and* was also for a period President of the Society. Mr Wilson was also interested In the work of . Friendly _ Societies, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Deceased leaves a widow nnd a large adult "family, to. whom very wide sympathy will be extended in their sad bereavement. One sori, Mr W. T. Wilson, resides in Palmerston North, in' Lombard street, and -is also a member of the local Druids' Lodge. At present ho is in Wellington in order to bo pre«ont at.the interment.
