HEAVY FINES.
LIQUOR IN KING COUNTRY. Per Press Association. TAUMARUNUI, Dec. 22. The Magistrate, Mr E. W. Burton, had a busy sitting of the Court last week. On a charge of storing liquor in a proclaimed area a defendant was fined £lO and costs; a resident.of Manganui, charged with selling whisky in a proclaimed area, was fined the full penalty, £SO. For supplying liquor jbo natives, two offenders were fined £25 arid costs each. A native, charged with aiding a person unknown to commit a breach of the Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1910, was fined £2O and costs.
