LONDON, Doc. 18. There hnvo latterly been many vague rumours regarding a possible general election in the near future. The Daily Nows to-day circumstantially predicts an election in February, and says the abandonment of the Coal and the Anti-dumping Bills and the postponement of Home Rule are part of the election plans, because they would produce divisions in the Coalition if proceeded with, also if Labour persists in its promised campaign for the nationalisation of the mines in February, and threatened a renewal of industrial strife, the Government will go to the country on an antiLabour policy. The Daily Nows adds: The Government’s decision to prorogue before Christmas, instead of adjourning, is duo to the possibility of an election.
