(From Oob Own Cobrespondent.) OTA KI, Dec. 16. Ono of the most successful picnics and prize giving ceremonies held at the Consent Schobl took place to-duy in perfect weather. There were a large_ number of children present, also several The centre of -attraction was the distribution of prizes, and many of those presented were of a handsome nature. Father Maillard presented the prizes. Cheers were given for the Sisters, the Father?, find the visitors, :after which the thijdre.n dispersed. A pleasant i unction took place at the Convent grounds yesterday afternoon, when the large New Zealand Ensign, paid for. by the children attending the Convent School, and forwarded to Prance during the great war, was handed over, it having been received back from the authorities. The annual picnic in, connection with the Otaki State School wgs held to-day, but the attendance of the 'public' was small. The children, however, enjoyed themselves to the full.
