In I lie Senate, Senator Ferrioks, referring; to the Port Darwin trouble., said it was caused by the genera! belief that.Mr Gilrufcli was interested in the, Vestey Meat. Trust., and that Carey and other ofjiciala, appointed on Mr OLI--ruth's advice, were equally interested. Sena tor Russell promised the closest inquiry in the matter. In the Mouse of Representatives, Mr. Glynn stated that steps had been taken to restore order in Port Darwin. A warship would shortly arrive there.
