CLAIM FOR DAMAGED CARGO.
i (Pku Puebb Association.) DUNEDIN, April 1.0. Mr Widdowson, S.M., gave judgment today in the case in which Secular and Co. sued tho Union S.S. Company for £22-odd for injury done to portion of a cargo of lentils consigned to plaintiffs on the Wailiora from Calcutta, The Magistrate said the evidence clearly proved that the damage was caused by “sweating.” It had not been shown that the shipowners in all; the ! circumstances had not taken reasonable, and j proper precautions regarding the stc/wage-. 'Judgment was given for defendants.^
