SCHOOL CONCERT.

The Opera House was well filled last Ovtning, when the College street school concert took place.. A ■ nicely-arranged programme was presented; and that it, met with due- appreciation was evident in flic excellent reception of \\liy performers. Tho concert appropriately opened faith a part s'fthg by the College, street pupils, a tuneful Utile number. They also gave another item :it, the. close of the/first part, and were encored in. tho humorous tableau "Ten little nigger Boys. The children acquired themselves well, their work reflecting creditably unon their teachers. .Miss Drew and Miss Lovelock sung most .pleasingly, and gained immediate, recall:. The. remainder of the programme wits in tho hands of the Railway Vaudeville Company, who have appeared successfully in several entertainments locally; Miss Giorgi and Miss Rob:'.;>n were; as usual, inrgood voice, in their solos, and had' to comply with a. request for'encores. Mr Stamp's contribution -was "Youfh," and Mr Barti'tun, who is establishing a local reputation as a humorous vocalist, gave two excellent tongs, and \vas recalled several times, Mr K. Small'.* plantation dance was among tho evening's sue,cesser. He i* an accomplished performer in the long choc-, and responded with a second item. Mr Riggs, with the aid of his assistant, Mr \V. Young, gave an enjoyable comedy item that created a lot of mirth. A capital duet by Misses Shaw and Simpson, and a violin solo by Mr Muirh'efld, completed the programme The railway orchestra, tinder tiro leadership of Mrs Max, gav6 incidental 'items; and played most of the accompaniments..
