INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE SHIELD.

S. - At the New Plymouth High School * annual sports this afternoon the Di ■ 1 lence Minister presented the interna- • tional Challenge Shields,_ both seuiu'i and junior, won by the New Plymoiu! High School last year. The school a Ist won the senior shield in 1915, hut oik of the supervisors not holding commis sion rank the team which put up tie. Empire shooting record was disqualified. This year the school gained the 15th and Kith place in-the senior and 25th in the junior teams. In congratulating the school on its record, the Min ister stated that tlie double victory wa; not only an honour to the school but ti the whole of New Zealand, as in tin Senior Competition, open to till schools in the Empire, there were 922 competing teams in the Senior and 194 in tlu Junior.
