THE HALL MISSION MURDER.

(Pan Phbss Association. ) INVE ROAR GILL, Nov. 7. The Rev. IL Hall, who was murdered by blacks at Mornington Island, Queensland, was a son of the late Mr John Hall, of Edendale. He was born at Taieri Beach, Otago, 36 years ago. The family removed to Edendale (Southland) soon alter, and deceased subsequently spent some years in the Oamaru district in farming pursuits. In 1904 he entered Blair College, Adelaide, with a view to qualifying for the foreign mission field. In 1909 he married Mi.ss Tonkin,, formerly of Oamaru, who had also received missionary training in Adelaide. Deceased's first missionary work'was among the Australian aboriginals, and he was at Mapoon, North Queensland. Throe years ago he was given the task of opening up virgin territory at Mornigton Island, and had made excellent progress.
