RUSSIAN IN TROUBLE.
A BOGUS COLLECTOR. (Pbe Peshs Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 5. A Russian named Kuril Korilor appeared for sentence at the Magistrate's Court on charges to which he pleaded guilty, at Mer. cure Bay of collecting subscriptions for ■j fictitious Russian war fund. Evidence was given that accused was of good reputation, and formerly an ollicer in the Salvation Army at Palmerston North. Over £IOO had been collected. Counsel stated that the whole amount was intact. Having received an undertaking that, the money would be handed to the Public Trustee, the Magistrate imposed a line of £2O,
