UNITED STATES TRANSPORT
TORPEDOED BUT REACHES PORT. Received November 2, 8.55 a.in. WASHINGTON, Nov. 1. The, United States transport Finland, homeward bound, was torpedoed and returned to a foreign port under her own steam. There was no loss of life. The Finland was under escort, but neither the torpedo nor the submarine was sighted.
