MILITARY PROMOTIONS.
Thi! following military promotions have been announced: —Colonel 'tern. Brig.Gen.) E. W. C. Chaytor, C.8., C.M.G., N.Z.S.C., from commanding N.Z.M.R. Brigade, vice .Major-Gen 11. G. Chauvel, K.C.M.G., C.8., and is granted the temporary rank of major-general whilst employed as a divisional commander (22nd April). Col. (temp Major-Gen). E. W. C. Chaytor. C.8., C.M.G.. to be major-general the N.Z.E.E (22nd April). Licut.-Col. W. Meldrum, C.M.G., D.5.0., to command N.Z.M.R. Brigade, and is granted the temporary rank of brigadier general while ho employed (23rd April). Lieut.-Col. C. W. Melville, U. 5.0.. N.Z.S.C., to command Ist X./,. Infantry Brigade, and hj granted the temporary rank of brigadier-general whilst so employed (Stll June).
