Following is the High Commissioner's cabled market report: Meat.—There are largo supplies of homekilled beef, which are selling at lOjd and Home-killed mutton, in small supply, 13d. No frozen meat lias been released by order of the Government during this week New Zealand mutton and lamb: No supplies available and no quotations. Argentine mutton, llgd; lamb, ll£d; Patagonian, lOd; all in small supplv. Argentine chilled beef: Hinds, Hid; fores, 9]d. Butter: All kinds of butter are in small supplv and in active demand. Following are the maximum prices fixed: Salted Paris, 256s 8d; New Zealand and Canadian, 2245; American, Argentine and Australian unsalted butter, 3> more in each case The cheese market continues firm. N.Z. States, Flats. Australian and Canadian, at Government price. English cheddar, 1375, but holders arc not anxious to sell in view of higher prices to take effect on and after Ist November. Hemp. —Manila and New Zealand markets remain as last, reported. Manila: Ihe arrival is reported of 25.000 bales, for which no riso will occur unless (code word for this was mutilated). N.Z. offerings are very small and readily absorbed. . . Wheat is offering in moderate quantities this week at oflieial quotations. The oats miyket remains linn.
