NEW GERMAN WAR LOAN.
PROVISIONALLY TOTALS £625,000,000. GERMAN BREAD SUPPLY ASSURED. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. Received October 22. 8.45 u.m. AMSTERDAM, Oct. 21. A Berlin message states the provisional total of the war loan is 625 millions sterling-. The Reichstag- Committee has been informed that further limitation of the. bread ration is unnecessary, the grain supply for tho whole year being assured. EXTENDING THE LIFE OF PARLIAMENT. LONDON, Oct. 19. In tho House of Commons, Mr Bonar Law stated that a Bill would be introduced further prolonging the life of Parliament. It is understood the extension, will be for six months. A SOCIALIST’S HOPE. _ COPENHAGEN, Oct. 19. Herr Scheidomann, in closing tho Wuerzburg Socialist Conference, said that Social Democracy had gained u direct power in the State, and the Parliamentary system that must bo adopted in Germany after the war was only a prelude lo greater things.
