(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI. Oct. 20. The information laid under the Sale of Pure Foods Act against George Beyan, for the alleged watering of milk by adding 25.4 per cent, was determined yesterday, when the S.M. (Mr Kenrick) dismissed the charges—five in ail. A man named O. Murphy was yesterday charged at the. S.M. Court for refusing to pay his fare, and for using insulting language to the guard on the train, and the fine of 10s was inflicted on two charges, with costs totalling £4 19s scl. Other informations were, dismissed. John Wylie was ordered to pay Sarah Ann Wylie £25. money lent by plaintiff. A claim by J. D. Howell, against J. G. Stevens, for £33 4s, was also heard. Judgment for £26 was given for plaintiff, and the further case between the two parties has only partially been heard.

Mrs Dempster has sold her interest in the Telegraph Hotel, at Otaki, to Mr W, 'l. Edwards, who takes possession on November sth.

For using obscene language to a railway official, a Koputaroa resident was lined 5s and costs 29s at the last sitting of the Levin Court.
