The Gisborno Chamber of Commerce, says a Press Association message, unanimously endorsed the principle of raising loans by means of premium bonds, and decided to write to the Minister, urging the adoption of the principle, also to ask the Associated Chambers to support the project. A cable message has been received in Sydney from Cardinal Gasparri, Papal Secretary of State, conveying- a further report on the work in connection with the graves of Australians and New Zealanders at Gallipoli. The Cardinal states that Pope Benedict XV., who received » gratifying report some months au r o on the condition of the graves at Gallipoli, also photographs of the, military cemeteries on tho peninsula, has since done his utmost, in j response to numerous requests, to get photographs and particulars of tho graves of individual Australians and New Zealanders. The Apostolic Delegatet at Constantinople has been most active in the. matter, and though every assistance was given by the Turkish Government, tho results so far have, unfortunately, not been satisfactory. This is due to the fact that the names' over some of the grave* are now quite illegible, and that the fallen were sometimes buried in a common grave. The. representative of the Holy See at Constaninople continues to take the most paternal interest in the cemeteries, and. where information in available, it will be sent , .vithout delay to those who have communicated with the Vatican.
