HOSPITAL BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. Tho ordinary meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital and Charitablo Aid Board was held this morning. There were present: Sir James Wilson (chairman), Mrs Gill, Mrs Crabb. and Messrs J. K.' Hornblow. J. A. Nash, J! H. Vincent. J. Voss, W. G. Pearce, A. Mclntvre. H. 11. Hunt, IT. Smart, M. A. Moody, and Dr. Whitaker. An apology was reccivwl for tho absence of Mr Bramwell. Tho matron wrote recommending (hat Probationer Burnet! be promoted to senior probationer, and Probationer Shoilds be placed on the permanent stalV.—Agreed to. The Public Trustee notified that the application for a loan of £25.000 had boon postponed until the office was satisfied that, the work was urgent, and necessary.—Received. The Inspector-General wrote stating that tho Minister had approved of a subsidy at. the rate of £1 for £1 on. the Mel lardy donation.—The chairman staled that the money had oomo to hand, and had been placed on deposit in the Savings Bank. Dr. Stendahl wrote accepting appointment as anaesthetist to the Hospital.—Received. The Inspector-General wrote m regard to the merging <>f Horowhcnua and Palmerston North hospital districts, and stated (hat a clause to this effect- was being prepared for the "Washing-up Bill.—Received. A committee consisting of Mrs Gill, Mrs Crabb, and Messrs Nash and Voss was set up to supervise accounts prior to the monthly meetings.
