The following- is the remainder of flic business transacted at the Farmers’ Union meeting- on Saturday: Mr T. Moss, president of the Farmers’ Union, invited tho branch to send a delegate to a meeting to bo held at Palmerston to elect a local committee consisting of six representatives for the Wellington and Taranaki province to deal with all questions arising locally affecting the purchase by tho Government of the wool clip. —Mr Balsillio was appointed to represent tho Board. Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, Minister of Agriculture, wrote forwarding a copy of a memorandum received from lion. A. M. Myers in which tho suggestion was made that tho services of sccondry school pupils should bo invoked to assist, if necessary in harvesting operations during the coining season, Air Mac Donald thought the Farmers’ Union was in the best position to estimate whether the labour supply would bo sufficient for flic coining harvest. Mr Balsillio did not consider that there would bo any noticeable shortage as there was practically no harvesting going on in this district. It was decided that there would be no necessity for aid in the harvest this year. Tho President of the Board of Agriculture, Sir dames Wilson, wrote that the Board was desirous of obtaining information with regard to the six worst noxious weeds on arable and grass land and asking for information from this district. Mr 11. Bond moved that something bo done to sec if legislation could bo passed stipulating that the stock brand should go with the farm when the latter was sold.
