In the course of his despatch on the Egyptian operations General Murray say 3: "Patrolling duties along the western edge of the Canal zone were entrusted to two Australian squadrons and the whole dinplayed the greatest zeal, tact and resource, withtho result that the western Canal zono can be said to bo free of all unauthorised persons." The attention and devotion of the Australian and New Zealand nursing services are eiilogiseu. A subsequent despatch mentions Colour!.! f'liauvel. Chavtor,-Royston. Antill. Meredith, Walshe, 'Downes, Wilson. Fuller, Onslow, Mavgar, Grant Dixon, Crall. Mackcsv, Findlay. Mcldru'm. also 95 Australian officers and men and eight nurses, and £1 New Zealand officers and four nurse.
