Every imaginable subject except Madame CaillauxV guilt is being diacuoed at her tnal, including diplomatio, financial, and domestic matters. • Explosive outbursts between Caillaux and Chenu, counsel for the Calmette family, pro. voked applause and derision, and the judge threatened to dear the Court. Chenu ironically admired M. Caillaux's cleverness in creating a difersioa by turning a crumoal into a political trial. Caillaux, m evidence, endeavoured to show that Dresdner Bank was a large shareholder xn the Fijtaro. Hence the paper resected German Foreign Office views. A gunsmith gave evidence that Madame CaUlaux tried a revolver in a shooting fallery before purchasing it, and hit a gure target three times out of six shots. Received July 24, 10.45 a.m. PARIS, July 23. The editor of L'Journal gave evidence that Madame Gueydiri, formerly Madame Caillaux-offered him Caillaux's private let ters, but he refused them. Madame Gueydan, in her evidence, admitted taking the letters from her husband's study for the purpose of her divorce suit.
