REWARDS OF OFFICE.
NOT FOR PRINCE AND POTENTATE. BUT FOR EMPIRE-BUILDERS. (Bt Elkthtc Til«gbaph—Coptbiqhi.) ;;, BB PBBB9 ASSOCIiTION.) (TIMIB AND ByDNBT BUN SIRVIOIS.) TORONTO, Juno 11. There Lb much frank newspaper comment on Prince Arthur of Teck's appointment as Governor-General. Though not personally hostile, the criticisms are aggressively democratic and illuminating as showing the actual temper of Canada. Papers urge that the rewards of office should not go to princes or potentates, but to men who have done, and are doing, things for the Empire.
