Some two years ago a Sydney resinont ohtained a divorce from his wife, who was wed known in fashionable circles, on the grourwl of adultery. Shortly afterwards, the wife of another resident was granted a divorce on the ground of the husband's misconduct with the divorcer! wife mentioned above. 111 the meantime the two divorcees departed for San Francisco in company. A year later, the lady transferred her affections to another gentleman, and sailed for Sydney, where she was married shortly afterwards. On reaching Honolulu. where they stayed to spend the honeymoon. the man who had been deserted in America api>eared 011 the scene, and shot and mortally wounded his deserter then known as .Mrs Stuart. He immediately ■urned the weapon on himself, with fatal effect.
