GAS COMPANY'S MEANS OF RAISING REVENUE.

The Auckland Gas Company notify con sumers that, in consequence of the steady rise in all costs of manufacture, accentuated by the effect, of the late strike, the company find it necessary to increase its revenue. The directors are averse to increasing the prioa of eras, and have decided instead to make a charge for meter rent, which, to 75 i>or cent. of the consumers will amount to sixpence a month, and to large consumers ninepencc a month.
