(Pia Peers Association.) WAIMATE, March 2. An inquest was hold to-day on the charred remains found in a two-roomed cottage at Wihao Forks burnt down on Saturday night about 11 o'clock. The licensee of the Forks Hotel saw the glare of a fire irorn inside his promisee. On going outside lie found a small cottage about 100 yards away in flames. He failed to gain admittance. When the lire had burned down, the charred remains, which were proved to be thosy of a man about 3o years of age, and picsumablv those ot David Sullivan, a swagger, who wa.s seen to leave Waintafo for the Forks by the last train on Saturday night, were found. Sullivan is supposed t-o have been sleeping in the eottjige in which were five bunks, no other trace oi him having boon found. A verdict was given accordingly.
