AUCTION SALES.

The M.A.C. will sell by auction at their Exchange Rooms to-morrow, commencing at 1 p.m., large consignments of household furniture, fruit and vegetables, hams and bacon, and sundries of all kinds. Every lino to bo offered must bo sold to make way for further consignments arriving. On page 8 Harry Palmer advertises a large list of entries to be offered at his usual mid-week sale, to be held to-morrow. WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. PRICES ADVANCE A LITTLE. N.Z. The New Zealand Ixian and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—Under the auspices of the Wellington Woolbrokers' Association the fourth wool «de of the season took place in Wellington yesterday, when the combined catalogues totalled roundly 6500 bales. This is a hi- offering for a March sale, and some 3450 bales more t.ian were offered in the eamo sale last season. There was a largo attendance of buyers representing all sections of the trade. As anticipated, there wue keen competition at an advance on February rates of J per lb on coarse and medium wools. Lambs wool was well competed for at prices par to 3d Porlb higher, whilst skirtings sold at 3d to jd better. The wool offered was mostly of inferior quality, either heavy in grease or carrying much bidi bidi, the latter being especially noticeable in many of the email lots of Jambs wool. Although tho bulk of our catalogue was of the above description, we offered severed clips of exceptionally ?ood quality, both of fleece and lambs, anil for these excellent prices were obtained, viz.. 'ip to 11 for medium crossbred and for good lambs. Owing to the number of clips that did not arrive in time for the present sales, it was arranged with the buyers to hold a supplementary sale on I'riday, 20th inst., when it is anticipated that a fair catalogue wili bo submitted. Wellington, report as follows The fourth local wool ri n of '' l(> season was h-ld in the Town Hall at Wellington yesterday, before a very large attendance of buyers, the num!>er operating being quite as many as in die previous sales, and the competition from Bradford and the Continent, as well as from the local buyers, was excellent. The total quantity offered was 6600 bales. >f which our total offering was 2276 bales.' The condition ol who wool was generally very heavy, and consisted mostly of hack country lots, showing a good quantity of ■seedy and log-stained wool. Taking this into consideration, it may be said that: there v.as an advance yesterday of par to fd on half-bred and fine crossbreds, J,d to Jd on medium and coarse crossbreds, id -o 2'l on pieces, and fully gd on lambs' wool. Owing to a good deal of wool arriving too laie for this catalogue, it was decided to hold a supplementary sale on die 20th inst., when the majority of home buyers signified their intention of attending, and we would therefore advise clients who are still holding any wool to get it in without anv delay.
