HOCKEY.
At hwt night's meeting of the Hockey Association. Mr F. Garner presided. A letter was received from Mr K. Nordon. president of the New Zealand Hockey Association, accepting, with /hanks, a framed photo of the Manawatu tutu, who were the first winners of the Nordon Cup. It was reported that, the l«i!| recently held had been a financial success a«- well a« l>eing a most enjoyable function, this being due to the enthusiasm and work of tinladies' committee, which made all the arrangements. The thanks of the executive were passed to the ladies, and also to all who had assisted.
The referee wrote stating that much unnecessary rough play had taken place in the match between Old Boys and Phoenix on Wednesday, and he reported a member >f the former club.—lt was decided to severely caution the player mentioned, a motion btt*pcnding him being U>».
It was decided to enter a challenge f<>: the Nordon Cup next vear. Fixtures for Wednesday are as follows: Phoenix v. Post Office, No. 2 ground, 3.15 p.m.. Mr Gray. Old Boys v. Technical. No. 1 ground. 2 p.m., Mr Hodgson. Palmerston v. Juniors. No. 1. 3.15. Mr Opie.
